Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of ipsteak.com (the "Site"). By accessing or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

The service

IPSteak is a free, informational network utility. The home page displays your public IP address and related connection details such as IPv4 and IPv6 availability, ISP, autonomous system number (ASN), and browser user agent. The Tools section provides additional lookup utilities for IT and cybersecurity work, including IP / hostname lookup, DNS records, email authentication checks, WHOIS / RDAP, threat-feed checks, live TLS certificate inspection, subnet math, IPv6 conversion, MAC vendor lookup, WebRTC leak detection, and connection-headers viewing. The Site is provided as a convenience for general informational purposes only.

Lookup tools — informational use only

The lookup tools query public registries, public DNS resolvers, open-source threat feeds, and live TLS endpoints. Results are advisory. You must not use the Site, by itself, as the basis for blocking customers, denying service, attributing attacks, taking law-enforcement action, screening fraud, calculating risk for insurance or credit, or any decision in which an inaccurate result could harm a person, organization, or property. You agree to independently verify any result before relying on it.

No warranty; accuracy disclaimer

The Site and all data displayed on it are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

IP, ISP, ASN, geolocation, and related network information is estimated from public sources and third-party providers. It may be incomplete, outdated, incorrect, or unavailable at any time. You must not rely on the Site for any decision where inaccurate information could cause loss, including security, compliance, billing, fraud screening, legal, financial, medical, or safety decisions. You are solely responsible for independently verifying any information before relying on it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to: (a) use the Site or any underlying lookup endpoint for unlawful purposes; (b) scrape, mirror, or programmatically harvest the Site or its responses; (c) submit automated requests, denial of service traffic, or excessive traffic; (d) attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Site or related infrastructure; (e) interfere with, disable, or circumvent any feature of the Site, including any caching, rate-limit, or routing controls; (f) use the Site as a relay, proxy, or front-end for circumventing terms of service or rate limits imposed by upstream providers (including Cloudflare, Google Public DNS, RIPEstat, rdap.org, abuse.ch, DShield, the Tor Project, the IEEE, or any successor service); (g) use the Site to harass, defame, surveil, or harm any person; or (h) use lookup tools to compile bulk data about individuals, including doxing, stalking, harassment, unsolicited contact, or marketing.

For the WHOIS / RDAP, blocklist, and TLS inspector tools you agree, in addition, to comply with the upstream providers' terms referenced in the privacy policy. WHOIS / RDAP data must not be used to enable spam, marketing, or unsolicited contact.

Third-party services

The Site uses third-party services to display information, including but not limited to Cloudflare (hosting and 1.1.1.1 DNS resolver), Google Public DNS, RIPEstat (RIPE NCC), ipify, rdap.org and the Regional Internet Registries, abuse.ch, the SANS Internet Storm Center / DShield, the Tor Project, the IEEE Registration Authority, the additional public DoH resolvers used by the DNS propagation tool (Quad9, AdGuard DNS, DNS.SB, Mullvad DNS, ControlD, Cisco OpenDNS), and Google AdSense. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, which you should review. IPSteak does not control and is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their content.

Advertising

The Site is supported by advertising. Ads are served by third parties and may use cookies, identifiers, and similar technologies. IPSteak does not control which specific ads are shown.

Intellectual property

The Site's design, code, copy, name, and branding are owned by the Site operator. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the Site without prior written permission, other than ordinary browser caching and personal viewing.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall the Site, its operator, or its suppliers be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or use, arising out of or relating to your use of or inability to use the Site, whether based on warranty, contract, tort, statute, or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. The aggregate liability of the Site and its operator for any claim relating to the Site shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100).

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Site, its operator, and its suppliers from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to your use of the Site, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Changes to the service or these terms

The Site may be modified, suspended, or discontinued at any time without notice. These Terms may be updated at any time; the "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Connecticut, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
